SYLVIA TORRES, Financial Administrator
Sylvia has been with Hendler Flores Law for 20 years. She oversees financial administration, assists in the firm’s day-to-day operations, and manages internal communication. If you have a mesothelioma or asbestos cancer lawsuit, Sylvia is your settlement and bankruptcy claim coordinator. She helps to make sure you receive asbestos settlement checks as quickly as possible. She graduated from Austin’s St. Edwards’s University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and enjoys watching sports with her family.

ALEXIS LOPEZ, Litigation Manager
Alexis joined Hendler Flores Law in 2015 as a Paralegal and was promoted to Litigation Manager in 2018. In this role she provides guidance to our team of paralegals and legal assistants in all aspects of litigation and office protocols. Alexis is also responsible for monitoring progress and timelines in all of our cases to ensure deadlines are met.
Alexis received her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University in Criminal Justice and Political Science in 2013. She then received her Paralegal Certification from Texas States’ Legal Studies graduate program in 2014. Alexis lives in San Antonio and is a HUGE Spurs fan.

AMANDA ROSENFELD, Senior Litigation Paralegal
Amanda joined Hendler Flores Law in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience in both law and medicine, the perfect combination for the type of cases we handle. Amanda is an empathetic soul with a strong desire to help others, and she is extremely passionate about advocating for those who need it most. In her spare time, she is an advocate for civil rights and a fitness junkie with a love of baking.
Amanda has an Associate of Arts from Sonoma State University, a Paralegal Certificate from UC Berkeley and is presently in her final semester of a Bachelor of Science degree at Sonoma State. Always driven to expand her skills and knowledge, Amanda plans to apply to JD/MD Programs in 2021.

RACHEL COTTEN, Paralegal
Rachel joined Hendler Flores Law in 2019 after graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a double major in International Area Studies and Spanish. As part of her education, Rachel spent a semester studying in Bogota, Colombia at the Universidad de los Andes. Rachel is fluent in English and Spanish, and is frequently called upon to interact with the firm’s international clients. Often their first point of contact in the US, Rachel works hard to make them feel comfortable so far away from home. She believes that the bond she has formed with many of her clients will last a lifetime.
In her leisure time, Rachel loves spending time with family and doing all things outdoors such as hiking, camping, and water skiing. She is also an avid traveler.

LAKYN SEGOVIA, Paralegal
Lakyn began working as a Paralegal at Hendler Flores Law in 2018. In this role she conducts legal research, reviews and files legal documents and assists the firm in preparing for trials.
Lakyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in 2017, and furthered her education by obtaining a Paralegal Advanced Technical Certificate in 2019. Outside the office Lakyn enjoys hiking and painting and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.

SANDRA TORRES, Legal Assistant
Sandra has worked as a legal assistant with Hendler Flores Law since 1998. Sandra works directly with the firm’s lawyers on maintaining the files, assisting with book-keeping, and helping accomplish a variety of tasks. She attended Austin Community College and The Art Institute in Austin, and enjoys serving her community by volunteering at Capital Area Food Bank and Austin Pets Alive!.

EMILY DECKER, Legal Assistant
A recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Emily joined Hendler Flores Law as a Legal Assistant in the summer of 2020. Emily is fluent in Spanish and has a BA in Economics and International Development. Her background makes her a great support for the firm’s Latin American banana workers litigation, and she also assists as needed with several other cases.
In her downtime, Emily enjoys baking, traveling, binge-watching Netflix and playing the flute. On the more serious side, she is an environmental activist and sees her role at Hendler Flores Law as a fit with her strong desire to make a difference.

SHAHIN AMINI, Chief Information Officer
Shahin Amini is the firm’s Chief Information Officer. Shahin chews through our most thorny IT problems and helps keep our legal work efficient, state-of-the-art, and frustration-free. After 20 years on the vendor side of IT including development, sales, and on-site troubleshooting of Fortune 500 companies’ most complicated IT issues, he knows every trick in software vendors’ secret book and has a deep and wide-ranging expertise in the commoditization of complex IT solutions.
